Home to the BEST VIKING EXHIBITION in Sweden… or perhaps the world. The Historiska Museet is an amazing place to spend the day. Every time we go it feels like they’ve created another incredible exhibition.

 

It might sound old and stuff but it’s incredibly forward thinking and innovative. I was so surprised when the newest museum in Stockholm opened, Vikingaliv in Djurgården. Personally, I think the Historiska has the edge on the Vikingaliv. It’s far more in-depth, more detailed and interactive. And, you don’t need a story train to do that.

 

Kid’s activities in Historiska are plentiful, especially around the school breaks with themed activities and events. Our highlights include:

 

 

The restaurant and cafe are fantastic, serving home made lunches, soups and open-sandwiches. They have a small selection of foods for kids and, of course, high chairs and changing rooms.
