The ingrained stereotypes of female immigrants in Sweden are perpetuated by the media and politicians. But, Parisa Walklett, photographer and content creator, is determined to change that. Parisa’s latest photographic project, Female Immigrant Makers in Sweden #FIMIS, is smashing the stereotypes found in the media of female immigrants (lazy, stupid, only able to cook or clean) in an intimate photography series of artists, jewellery designers, toy-makers, bakers, stationery designers, from all over the world who call Sweden home. By offering a glimpse into their world of creativity and past the veil of labels to see how much these individuals are contributing to Swedish society.
