FÖrÄldrakooperativet
Trubaduren

Trubaduren Förskola – a Swedish nursery with an international feel.

Trubaduren is a small preschool in Vasastan with a family feel. There are 15-18 children between the ages of 1-5, and 4-5 members of staff depending on the number of children and their needs. Although the language of instruction at Trubaduren is Swedish, many of the families have an international background. Information to parents and board meetings are conducted in English, ensuring that non-Swedish speaking parents feel connected to the school, while their children rapidly become bilingual in Swedish.

Trubaduren offers many varied activities from outdoor excursions, to drama lessons, to movement and dance and art. The children have a longer excursion to the forest once a week. For the older children, Trubaduren works with other local co-operatives to prepare them for school and give them an opportunity to make new friends.

Trubaduren is a parent co-operative which means that it is an independent non-profit nursery. Parents sit on the board and have specific areas of responsibility to assist with school matters. The nursery school manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the nursery as well as the educational aspects. The benefits of being in a co-operative is that parents get a proper insight into the child’s education, and a say in how the nursery is run.

Interested parents are welcome to the next open house which will take place on June 11 at 1500. For more information, visit the website at http://trubaduren.nu.
