We visited Bokslukaren – Böcker och bakverk för Barn in Södermalm this afternoon. It was the perfect antidote to the wintery weather that blew in over Stockholm today. Cosy, warm and tonnes of books, music, videos and gift ideas to look at.

The cafe is very comfortable verging on the point of too comfy. At one point it felt like we were making ourselves very at home in Granny’s living room with her big chessington’s and oriental rugs.

The offering in the cafe is modest but imaginative. All the drinks and snacks are named after literary figures and food. But there are some favourites like Ella’s Kitchen pouches and smoothies too.

All in, I would thoroughly recommend Bokslukaren as the perfect fika destination for the book worms amongst you. Ideally better for babies who are 3yrs+ but babies of all ages are more than welcome! The only drawback is the lack of space. Not much room for the buggy bandits and its only got space in the cafe for 2 groups of 2 but there is a certain charm in that itself.

Happy fika’ing!
