COVID-19 guidance

Health and safety guidance 1 – May 2020

Littlebearabroad Community Studio – COVID 19 mitigation of infection spread.

In an effort to protect our community and our staff from becoming infected with novel coronavirus 19, Littlebearabroad has created this set of guidelines to ensure that we can minimise the risk of infection on site and at any of our outdoor events.

Current status:

As of May 2020, Stockholm is in the midst of a novel coronavirus epidemic.

The Swedish public health agency (Folkhälsomyndigheten), along with the Swedish Government, has put in place public health recommendations and mandates for individual members of the public:

  • Hand washing for 20 – 30 seconds at a time whenever you can
  • Avoid touching your face at all times
  • Remain 2 meters apart from one another
  • Do not visit or meet with members of risk groups i.e. the elderly, chronically sick and immunocompromised to prevent risk of infection
  • Gatherings of 50+ or more people are forbidden and will be dispersed by police.
  • If you can, work from home and conduct meetings digitally
  • Avoid using public transport unless absolutely necessary.

The Swedish public health agency (Folkhälsomyndigheten) has also made several recommendations for public spaces and venues. For the foreseeable future, Littlebearabroad will be hosting only outdoor events in the small green space next door to our studio. If, and when, it is appropriate we will begin to move certain events indoors with a limited capacity and public health recommendations in place.

This is how Littlebearabroad will be implementing those recommendations:

Outdoor events:

  • No more than 50 people will be permitted to attend each event: Littlebearabroad will be using a pre-registration and at-event sign-in monitoring to prevent overcrowding. This will also assist in any track and trace if needs be.
  • Regular hand washing if possible or use of alcogel. Littlebearabroad is able to provide alcogel at LBA events.
  • Implementing a 2 meter rule during activities: during outdoor events, participants will be required to maintain a 2 meter distance from one another, where possible. This can be implemented by spacing blankets and/or yoga mats with the assistance of the practitioner / teacher / event leader and the cooperation of the attendees.
  • No food or drinks will be provided by Littlebearabroad, but attendees are welcome to bring their own.

Indoor events:

  • No more than 20 people will be permitted to attend each event: Littlebearabroad will be using a pre-registration and at-door sign-in monitoring to prevent overcrowding. This will also assist in any track and trace if needs be.
  • Implementing a 2 meter rule during activities: during indoor events, participants will be required to maintain a 2 meter distance from one another, where possible. This can be implemented by spacing blankets and/or yoga mats with the assistance of the practitioner / teacher / event leader and the cooperation of the attendees.
  • Hygiene and handwashing facilities will be available at all times with disposable hand towels, and alcogel available too. The studio door handles, light switches, taps and toilet areas will be disinfected twice daily. Special equipment (yoga mats, exercise equipment) will be sprayed down after each use.
  • No food or drinks will be provided by Littlebearabroad, but attendees are welcome to bring their own.  This is in an effort to minimise overcrowding at fika tables and the fika table.
  • Playgroup toys, books, equipment will be washed and or sanitised before the playgroup starts back indoors. We will also be reducing the number of toys and books available onsite.

Littlebearabroad Commnity Studio will continue to observe recommendations from Sweden’s public health bodies and follow any changes to the current recommendations. If you have any questions or further queries, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us via our usual lines of communication via the website or ask@littlebearabroad.com.
